COUNTY CREATED: 1907 from Oklahoma County, Oklahoma Territory.

COUNTY NAMED FOR: The principle community of the area originally known as Oklahoma Station, a stop on the Santa Fe Railroad, and now Oklahoma City.

COUNTY SEATS: One - Oklahoma City

COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR:  Oklahoma is derived from two Choctaw words; "okla" meaning people, and "humma" meaning red, literally meaning "red people."

COURTHOUSES: Three - 1904, 1937, and 1967.

STANDING: Two - 1937 Art Deco building and 1967 modern structure. The two buildings are linked by crosswalks.
