COUNTY ORGANIZED: 1875 COUNTY NAMED FOR: Probably named for William W. Morris, an early legislator and judge. COUNTY SEATS: One - Daingerfield COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: Capt. London Daingerfield COURTHOUSES: Two - 1882 and 1973. STANDING: Two - 1882 brick courthouse in an odd style with Classical elements. It has been remodeled with a new roof and is used as an atorney's office. The 1973 courthouse is a Modern style structure built of concrete. LINKS: Morris County |
